Cassava DDGS

In addition to Ethanol, CassavaTech also produces high-protein and gluten free animal feed, DDGS (Dried Distillers Grains with Solubles), which can replace the imports of genetically modified soya from North and South America to Europe. Furthermore, there is no more starch or sugar in DDGS, which therefore reduces emissions of methane gas from ruminants.

Cassava DDGS (Distillers' Dried Grains with Solubles) is a by-product of bioethanol production from cassava, similar to other DDGS from cereal grains. It is an animal feed ingredient rich in protein, fibre, and fat, as well as essential amino acids, vitamins, and minerals. Cassava DDGS serves as a sustainable feed resource for poultry, swine, and cattle, offering nutritional benefits and reducing waste. However, unfermented cassava DDGS contains cyanide, so solid-state fermentation with mold and yeast can improve protein content and reduce cyanide levels, enhancing its nutritional value.

As a result of ethanol production, we have the technology to also produce high-quality DDGS, which is derived from the distillation of the fermented Cassava. The waste product is mixed with the condensed liquid fraction from the distillation process, then it is dried and granulated into Distillers' Dried Grain with Solubles (DDGS).

This feed is rich in grains and residual proteins, energy, minerals, vitamins and amino acids. It is an excellent source of absorbable proteins and energy, which is used in farms and fodder factories all over the world due to its high nutritional value and good price.
